Common Questions

Everything you need to know about maintaining healthy locs.

What is the best wax for starter locs?

For starter locs, we recommend water-based gels over heavy waxes. Look for products with high hold but low residue to prevent buildup while your locs mature.

How often should I retwist my locs?

Generally, every 4-6 weeks is recommended. Retwisting too often can cause thinning at the root, while waiting too long can lead to freeform roots.

Does beeswax cause buildup?

Yes, traditional beeswax is very difficult to wash out and often attracts lint and dirt. We recommend modern, water-soluble alternatives.
